i’ve been playing the violin for 6 years and the one thing i’ve always had trouble with was reading notes.
when i read notes they all look the same to me, i’m kinda a slow reader with notes.
but once i get the song down i can play it.

any advice as to get better at reading it?
i’m talking about sheet music lol
but i do sing in chamber choir.
i’m better with singing than violin i think

you could probably get better by taking voice lessons…even if you dont have much of a voice because voice coaches are there to help you read notes and well…sing better :P

    How to Sight Read Music

pencil in the note names above each note when you first look at a piece this then enforces the notes into your mind
    ie.
Every – E – First line on stave
    Good – G – 2nd ” ” ”
    Boy – B – 3rd ” ” ”
    Deserves – D – 4th ” ” ”
    Football – F – last ” ” ”

    and
F – first space on stave
    A – 2nd ” ” ”
    C – 3rd ” ” ”
    E last ” ” ”

this then means that you will learn the position of each note name on a stave and you will soon be able to identify and read notation with ease. this will also help any inventing or composition you do :)

    hope i helped :) xx
